2014 Dodge Dart Sxt Top Speed

It seems like these cars don't have a governor. Mine doesn't. 5000 rpms in 5th gear and the digital speedo was reading 121:smile:. It felt like it had more but I was getting into the city and let off.

What engine does your Dart have? I think mine is electronically limited to 118 if I remember correctly.

You were getting ready to hit the limiter. It's different with each car. It ranges from 118-120 or so with most.

I've seen pictures of a model Dart's top speed recorded in the Garmin unit at over 140mph, I think it was 142

It has the 2.4 with a manual 6 speed.

That not always true the GPS sometimes misses up because mine says 163 and I know I never been that fast so I reset it then now it says 150 so don't believe that

The gps measurements are WAY off. Mine says 160mph and I've never had it close to 100mph,lol.

I wish I had your guys' problems. Here in WA you can't go more than 5 over without a state trooper jumping on your ass. They're even using drones to watch traffic now.

Got mine to hit 120. Felt like there was a bit more there but I hit the limiter.

I hit 115 the day I bought it after my break in routine. I haven't had it past 100 since. With the power I'm now making, and no speed limiter, i should easily beat my old lightly modded Eclipse GT, and I had that car up to 150 before.

119mph tonight on 79 south from Pittsburgh! But felt like I could keep going. Was coming to a known cop spot.... Ugggghhh. I'm happy though. Felt like floating!

My fully bolted and tork tuned dart I topped out at 120mph. My fiesta ST I traded my dart in for with a custom tune and drop in filter. I hit 140 in 5th the other day. Shifted into 6th and had to stop, came up on cars and couldn't tell if they where cops or not. Defenitly could have pushed it farther. It was still pull very hard and fast.

Why would you guys feel it's safe to drive that fast?
They can drive how they please. People who do 55 or 60 on the expressway are the ones that do dumb stuff and cause accidents. Besides, airbags and seat belts become near useless at what? 70mph? And I think 75 and up they become just as likely to kill you as save you. " if we're gonna wreck, hit something hard. I don't wanna limp away."
That being said, darts really aren't agile and the brakes fail super fast at highway speed. Its not a car that inspires triple digit stability in my book. Just too much weight, and a lack of control for all that girth haha.

I can see that you have never put your Dart through its paces. Or maybe you are just comparing the Dart to something not made for the Autobahn, unlike my Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.4T DDCT-bred Dart SXT 1.4T DDCT. Of course there are better, and more expensive Autobahn cruisers, but the Dart is not your average "Americanized" 65 mph speed limit car. My Dart can hyper-cruise, that's for sure!
Edit--"Girth" is what you want in a high-speed cruiser.

i hit 128 in a race with a V6 Solara. i beat him by a car.
